When I was a Senior back in high school, I was clueless about what degree to take for college. And so when I got my application form for UST, I thought of making Advertising Arts my first choice.
Then, BAM! I didn't know what I signed up for, but then, ya know what they say...

And now that I'm in my last year in CFAD, let me share with you my thoughts on
why I think you should take Adver in Art School.

HEAVEN!!! |
Art school brought out the hoarder in me - and I'm pretty sure that somehow,
it also made you a bit of a hoarder.
it also made you a bit of a hoarder.
Joyce's, Jomar's, and Joli's (or collectively, the 3 Js) are right outside Beato, which makes it more convenient (or not? Hahaha, they should probably have branches at the Beato lobby [lol at the katamaran]) for the students.
In there, you can find a wide variety of materials such as:
1. Paints
(Poster Colors, Watercolor Pans, Acrylics, & so on)
2. Papers & Sketch Pads
(in different sizes and thickness)
3. Pencils
(Graphite, Colored, Watercolor, & so on)
4. Painting Brushes
(and probably hair brushes, too)
5. ...and other stuff that you might (or might not) need like:
dinosaur & animal figures, balloons, pebbles, masks, fake mustaches, and more random junk.
PLUS! Most of the time, it's waaaay cheaper buying in the 3 Js than in National Bookstore.

But then, I have realized if I effectively managed my time, it would not only help me finish my plates (and requirements) before the deadline/s, but that I would have spare time to do
what I want - rest, read, watch TV series and movies, and maaany more.
And to think that in the "real world" of Advertising, time is crucial and you always have to beat your deadlines, I strongly believe that being CFAD will help you with your time management skills.

Have I mentioned that finishing your requirements at once is really fulfilling?
YES! That's because you get to do stuff unrelated to school!

College is entirely different from high school. Upon entering the university, I've realized that the next four years of my life will be spent learning about what my future job will be. What's cool is that in the process, I am being guided by my instructors and
professors - people who have worked or are currently working in their respective fields.

There are times that it is inevitable to [hate] your profs for giving you so much work and deadlines, but in the end, you'll realize that they are just training and molding you to be the best you can be.

Not everyone who enters Art School are already good in drawing. But... fret not! Along the way, you will be able to improve your skills.

With the help of your teachers and friends, you can unleash your true potential - may it be in digital illustration, traditional drawing, photography, layouting, and so on!
And who knows? You might be the next videographer of a famous brand, or your campaign pitch will be the winner of the next Cannes Lions.

101% TRUE.

YASSSSS |
In this crazy world (of being an Adver student), you're going to need a support system.
Your barkada and blockmates will help you go through the toughest of times (a.k.a. Prelims & Finals).
Blockmate 1: "Uy tapos ka na ba?"
Blockmates 2&3: "Hindi pa!!!"
Blockmate 1: "OKAY 'WAG NA TAYO MAGPASS TODAY."
Blockmate 4: "OKAY WALA DAPAT TATAPOS NG PLATE!!!!!"
(Sounds so familiar, haha! Hello AD3!!!)
And to be very honest, meeting people with the same interests as you is probably the one of the nicest things in the world.
AWWWWWW.

*cries tears of joy* |
Being around your friends can push you to do weird things sometimes (or most of the time, depends on the level of kasabawan), but mehhh who cares? |
![]() |
"Nag-hi yung crush kooo!" |
![]() |
"Utot lang ako, wait." |
![]() |
"OMG GUYS GAWA NG FRIEND KO YAN!!!" |
So basically, what I'm trying to say is that taking up Advertising in Art School will not only make you a better artist, but it will also be an instrument for you to meet wonderful people☺
